About The Performing Arts Connection

The Performing Arts Connection is a full service dance and performing arts school for children, teenagers, and adults. We have been training and coaching students of all ages since 2000. We believe that any child who wants to pursue dance and the performing arts should have a fun, safe, supportive, and exciting environment to train. Our challenging curriculum and superior staff-to-student ratio guarantees a productive atmosphere with plenty of personal attention. Our classes and workshops are typically divided by age and level which guarantees optimal improvement. There are no registration or costume fees!

Dance Philosophy

We know you have a choice when it comes to dance studios, and The Performing Arts Connection aims to fit the needs of all dancers from novice to pre-professional. Please read on to learn why The Performing Arts Connection is the right dance school for you and your family!

A High Quality, Technique-Based Curriculum
From your first steps to Broadway, we aim to prepare our dancers for a professional career. We recognize that not every student wants to be a professional dancer and we have tailored our curriculum and programming to meet the needs of all students, regardless of their goals and dreams. We pride ourselves on a studio-wide curriculum that fosters poise, confidence, discipline, and self expression. We don't have recitals for a specific reason: we want our dancers to learn technique! Instead, we offer two in-studio showcases per year, which happily gives our students a chance to perform without the pressures and costs of a full fledged recital. Other studios can spend up to half a year learning a recital dance which takes away from learning the style. To satisfy our students' desire for more stage time, we are introducing an optional Winter Dance Concert with all the bells and whistles of a typical studio recital in 2012. This exciting show will give our dancers a chance to perform with the glitz and glamour you've come to expect from a recital, but with a separate rehearsal schedule that won't cut into precious class time. Prepare to enjoy a full dance class experience every single week!

Uplifting Atmosphere
We are committed to your child's growth as a dancer and we are proud of our warm and positive studio environment. We strive to create an atmosphere where every dancer is empowered both emotionally and physically, regardless of his or her skill level. We do this by carefully offering constructive feedback in addition to regular positive praise. Our instructors love working with all ages and levels and are passionate about teaching and sharing their love of dance with every student. We know that students can benefit from the social aspect of dance and we are thrilled when students create lifelong friendships within our class setting.

Challenging Classes for All Levels
We are introducing three new programs in 2012: Dance Company, High Performance, and Recreational. There is truly something for everyone! Many of our transfer students complain that they weren't challenged at their old studios. This is one of the reasons we start leveling our High Performance classes in grade 3. We are dedicated to ensuring every student is placed in a class suitable for his or her age and level. When a student is pushed to reach to his/her full potential, in the company of peers with similar dance backgrounds, everyone benefits! We are committed to the growth of every dancer and can best serve you when our students' levels and goals are in balance. Occasionally, a student will feel he or she is not placed in the appropriate level. We work with our studio families in these situations. We are happiest when your child is learning and motivated to succeed. Our Recreational program is perfect for students who simply want to enjoy dance and our High Performance and Dance Company programs are geared towards dancers who wish to take their training to the next level.

Experienced Teachers
Our instructors carry college or university degrees in their craft and have at least four years of teaching experience. Many of our instructors are professional performers and exemplify our mission and philosophy. Our classes are kept small in order to maximize personal attention and support the development of a trusting relationship with each student.

Variety
We offer dance classes from ages 2 thru adult. We offer ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, modern, creative movement, boys only, adult dance, and more. In addition, we offer a competition dance team, Eclipse, for our more serious dancers.

Fun, Fun, Fun
We are serious about dance but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Dance is an art form. It's about self expression, imagination, creativity, and JOY! Let's laugh and play and have fun learning together! Our classes are productive, the lessons are meaningful, and the joy of dance and comaraderie is ever present throughout!

Theatrical Philosophy

We know you have a choice when it comes to acting and musical theater training, and The Performing Arts Connection aims to fit the needs of all performers from novice to pre-professional. Please read on to learn why The Performing Arts Connection is the best theater school for you and your family!

Amazing Classes
Our classes in acting and musical theater prepare students to participate in plays and musicals from auditions to the final bow. When you participate in a play or musical, the production team is not necessarily going to teach you how to act, sing, and dance, but rather expect that you will be able to handle whatever they throw at you. With a solid education in acting, singing, and dance from TPAC, students will be able to go out into the world of show business with confidence. Our students stand out from the crowd because they know how to prepare for an audition, how to perform a cold reading, how to develop a character, how to navigate their way through the rehearsal and performance process, and so on. Each week we study a variety of musicals and plays from the world's most famous to the hidden gems. Students learn how to tackle a myriad of characters, songs, and dance styles from the musical theater genre. In our classes, students are building versatility as a musical theater performer so they don't get "stuck" in one particular type of role. They quickly become skilled at mastering all types of characters—not just the ones they are comfortable or most natural playing. These are skills that are developed over time and our curriculum truly gives the students a taste of everything! From your first play to Broadway, we aim to prepare our future stars for a professional career. Exciting Workshops
Our workshops are generally performance-based where our students immerse themselves into an intense theatrical experience. Workshops are typically scheduled in shorter time frames, allowing busy students a chance to train at the studio without committing to a full year of study. Students work with trained professionals who are dedicated to giving your child a superb experience grounded in fun and learning. Choose from a variety of programs such as our Youth Musicals, Broadway Babies, and Just Off Broadway programs!
